Dusty on the back of your last pic (rear cradle) there is a black cyliner for hold down or support maybe. Even with the Master Inside Mark V scroll saw exploded view (page 58) on 400% view, I don't see it.

I am not sure I understand. Are we talking about this image?

Is this what you are asking about? If so, it is just a hold down for the rear of the table.

In the parts list it is item #86 Lock Shaft 514985. The machine screw #85 screws into #87 514982 Cradle.

That is because the current diagram and parts list on Shopsmith's website is for the newer style scrollsaw. The rear mount on the new scrollsaw table is different from what you and Dusty have. Unless you have the manual (and thus part numbers) for your saw, you will have to contact Shopsmith to see if they have the table's rear mounting parts.

Thats the good news. The bad news is, I can't get the table insert #64, the mysterious black piece #86 or the entire table trunion #71. They won't make these parts again as they only carry parts that have continued on to the next model. If that part is phased out, then it is discontinued all together.

If anyone has these parts and would like to part with them, please PM me.

The upgrade kit was backordered but from what I've read here, may be worth the wait.

Part #86 is something mandatory and I need to make one somehow. Dusty, hate to have you get your screwdriver and camera out again, but could you give me some pics and specs on what I need to make. I did order the srew that goes through it though.
The #71 table trunion has a thumbnail sixe piece cracked and missing, I'm not sure how that will pan out until I get the rest of the parts back on.

It appears that this scroll saw was damaged in shipping or a move somehow, thats maybe where the bent knob, cracked trunion and a few scratches came from. Maybe the missing parts were wiggled free in a move and fell off not to be kept with the saw. Sadness.

One option regarding the table insert, you might find the current bandsaw insert (516173) a suitable substitute. The only difference between the two is that the blade opening is larger on the bandsaw. I just swapped my inserts to be sure.

I am disappointed to hear this about parts used in older equipment. This has been one of the "support characteristics " that has made Shopsmith stand above other manufacturers.

With the advent of the PowerPro, does this mean that Mark V parts will be discontinued in the near future.

Probably not as long as they keep selling the Mark V. An observation though, Shopsmith is not selling the Mark V at there Lowe's demos nor on the Webinars. They are selling the Mark 7 or at least that is the only machine listed on the special sale sheet provided from each event.

I received your PM regarding this part. I'll get out there today and take some pictures. If part #86 is your only show stopped, you'll be able to recover. The part is simple. Any machine shop could create one.
