wiring motor to 4 post toggle switch

While disassembling the headstock of my Shopsmith, I inadvertently removed the screws mounting the motor to the pan. This allowed the motor to slide forward & pull the wires from the pins & I have no idea as to which pins they were connected. I have a 1980 Mark V with a Smith motor which has 4 wires ( black, white, green, yellow ) . The switch has two posts on each side of the top & two posts on the bottom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

4 wires that are connected INTERNALLY to the motor?

I would expect 2: one white, one blue.

Look closer at the green and yellow wires and where the ends are.

The 4 wires are connected INTERNALLY to the motor,& there is no blue wire.The yellow wire could be considered beige, as the wires are 38 years old. I also failed to mention the top 2 pins on the toggle switch are the ON & the bottom 2 pins are OFF. My problem is knowing which colored wires go to which pins.

Where are you located? Not USA? Is the motor dual voltage? Can you post a pix of the motor name plate?

Do you have an Ohmmeter?

All of JPG's questions are good ones, and I hope you will answer them, as he is much more of an expert on anything electrical than I will ever be.

A while back there was a similar question and post about wiring a switch, and I either copied or created this picture, which summarizes the Sawdust Session SS103 for replacing a switch. It took me while to find the actual Sawdust Session (had to Google it to find it), as I couldn't seem to access it directly from the Shopsmith site.

I find it necessary to APOLOGIZE for my mistake in saying all 4 wires were connected INTERNALLY. At my age, my mind isn't as sharp as it was years ago. After your last response,asking for the motor name plate, I removed the motor to take a photo. When removing the motor, I discovered there were only 2 wires (green & yellow ) coming from the motor & 2 wires ( black & white ) from the line cord. If you still need a photo of the name plate, I need to find out how to transfer photo from the camera too the message board. I believe the motor is 110v only & do have an ohmmeter. My residents is in Davison Michigan.
