Whare to get parts?

Post by bluejimmie »

I have a Mark V, 510, from the mid 80's. My speed control parts need to be replaced. Does anybody make these anymore?

Hi Jimmie;
Yes the parts are still available. Try Shopsmith direct or you can send some of the parts such as the rotating speed control to a third party for a repair.
I believe that the speed control parts are listed on the SS home website as some of the 17 most replaced parts so you should have no trouble.
My Shopsmith is a 1983 and has been upgraded to the 520.

Imagebluejimmie,
Knot just anybody, but the same company that originally produced your mid 80's Mark V!!! As you have already been directed to the "proper authorities" I will forgo doing so, but be advised that this forum is provided by the same company.:D

You have just stumbled onto what makes the Shopsmith such a fantastic machine. Yes, the parts are still available along with all the technical support you could ever need.

Just for you, Shopsmith is offering a classroom session on rebuilding your speed control. The Sawdust Session is an online classroom. Check it out.

By the way, Welcome to the forum. We are one big, happy family here. Glad you could join us. Looking forward to Saturday.
