Not to worry. I did the DIY powerpro upgrade on my SS (1957 Mark5).
I too had the same apprehension. However, once started it went smoothly. I just followed along step-by-step with the DVD and printed manual.
Six hours latter, up and running. Very happy with the results.

I have to agree with some of the other comments regarding the Grr-ripper.
I used to use a verity of push sticks (some bought, some shop made). I now grab the Grr-ripper any time I make a rip cut.
Its also great on the jointer and router table.

A bit expensive but well made.

Need some help.
I plan to make a few wooden face plates with threaded mounts.
I have a 1 1/4" 8 tpi tap. I'm looking for a an adapter to go from the SS 5/8 arbor to 1 1/4" 8 tpi male thread.
Can anyone suggest a source?

I have a older SS (1956) that I inherited from my dad (he bought it when I was 6 yr old).
Note, love that machine, and use it daily.

Regarding the stripped threads on the pan and cover screws.
I had the same issue with my SS.
I ended up using "T" nuts pressed into hardwood. I molded the hardwood ...

Just to clarify, the set screw that I was talking about is the one that secures the chuck to the SS adapter (not the set screw that mounts the adapter to the quill).

The set screw is next to the chuck key end pin hole (visible when looking down into one of the Nova chuck key access holes).

I believe I have the correct adapter. Mine came with a ISNS.

The instructions provided with the Nova chuck indicate that a "fibre wad (NS1000) needs to be placed under the "Grabscrew" (set screw) used to secure the adapter to the chuck. The problem is, with the fibre wad in place, the ...

Mine arrived yesterday also.
Started using it right away.
So far I'm quite happy with the purchase.

I called customer service. They indicated that order had been placed with Teknatool and thought I should be receiving the G3 sometime next week.
So... I'm on standby.

Has anyone received their G3 yet. I've had mine on order since Jan 10. Not yet received.
No indication from SS that it is on back order or when I might expect shipment.
