all of the above is good advice but if I can offer one more suggestion, it is to secure the rip fence if you are using it as backup. I have noticed some deflection on my 510 rip fence when using to back up my work in the horizontal boring mode. It is even worse if you have a dull bit.

Yes I have one of those flexible :cool: shaft attachments from the 50's, belonged to my cousin and with the speed reducer was used many times as a drive unit for our ice cream maker :D
Last time I used it was with the wire brush, it is kind of limited IMO because of its length and flexibility, too ...
