I am also running the Harbor Freight dust collector (larger unit) and agree that running the 4 inch hose to the device is appropriate. However I used a reducer from 4 inch to shop vac size I think it is 2 1/4 inch. To then attach to the device I went to the plumbing aisle and bought the 2 inch ...

If you are still looking for a free drawing program I would suggest open office draw. I utilize visio in my work but have used draw and found it to have the same functionality.

I have also switched to this solution by Enco. I wanted to also note you can get the adapter for a 1/2 inch shaft as used on the magna solutions and it will match the connector to the 5/8 inch drive on your shopsmith. Unsure where you are getting prices to upgrade?
I did the double tilt for essentially full price around $300 and then went to Lowes demo and applied for credit card for self installation and cost me just over $1500 including shipping.
