Straightening rough cut lumber

Hello,

I bought some rough cut ash for a project. I forgot to have them give me a straight cut on one side, so I don't have a clean edge to butt up against the table saw fence.

What is the easiest way to get a straight cut on an 8'-long board? I've done it in the past with a larger table saw, but ...

Wow - a lot of awesome feedback. Thank you!

My local sharpening company charges $0.55 per inch. So my two sets of planer blades and one set of jointer blades would cost $49.50. The conical sander and sharpening attachment cost $145.00+tax+shipping.

So the math says I would pay for the new ...

Planer/Jointer knife sharpener

I have a ...

In fact, looking at the image you posted, I think I see where the set screw has been.

It has been so long since I have been down into my proplaner that ...

Rob,

Thanks for the quick reply. That's sounds like the official name of the place I tried to describe... :)

It fits pretty loosely in that slot - is that the way it's supposed to be? Is there something I'm missing?

Pro Planer part fell off

I was using my Pro Planer (first time in a long time) and a small part fell out of the bottom.

It looks like a square drive, and it's 1/4" x 1/4" and about 1/2" long.

I can't figure out what it is. The only place it looks like it fits (which doesn't make sense) is in the axle of the top pulley of ...
