I've used a 8" Forrest Dado king on my 500 for twenty years, with no problems.
After upgrading to 510, the 510 dado insert works just fine with 3/4" dados.

I recently upgraded my 500 to a 510.
Has any one modified the 500 shaper fence to use on a 510 table?

I was told by a "Redneck" friend that they're pretty good eating.

I've been using a 8" Forrest Dado king for about fifteen years. I've had no problems, or complaints.

I've used a Forrest Dado king 8" for years on my shopsmith. Never had a problem.
Matter a fact I just used it to make shelving at my son's new house, with my old .75 hp Dewalt MBF RAS. I had to feed a little slower, but worked fine.

This little $2.00 on sale item from Harbor Freight is a life saver.
I can pick up a screw with it, or other larger objects.

I think I'll start with cutting off 14". I have a ridgid pipe cutter.
I tend to subscribe to the "I cut it twice, and it's still too short theory":eek: .
But this time, I'll be cautious.

It has been a couple of days, since I posted this.
I've got no reply to my question.
Maybe I phrased it wrong.
I want to lengthen my "Minnie" to long enough to use the carriage, and table from the other 500 being upgraded. I'd like it just long enough to be able to use the disc sander, and the end ...

I have a 1973 vintage 500, and a 1956 "greenie" mini that I use for SPT's
I finally bit the bullet, and picked up a 510 upgrade.
I'm thinking that I'd like to use the 500 tables, and carriage on the greenie minnie. I don't want to make the greenie full size, just enough length to use the main table ...
