mharmon, Welcome to the Shopsmith Forum. The serial number 205447 should have a prefix of SS and this Mark V was then made in May of 1985. To replace the bearing only you would first have to find the correct bearing, press the old one off the shaft and press the new one on. The Idler Shaft with the ...

If it was mine (and has been on at least one of my restorations) I would smooth down any raised ridges on the shaft to lessen wear on the new bearings.
