Re: Tripod Mount for iPhone

That's a really cool tripod mount! I have one of those universal mounts, too, but it just doesn't look as cool.

Alright. Where's my combo square THIS time? I just used it a second ago!

Re: Landscape Lighting

Beyond my skill level. I haven't used a lathe since high school (40 years ago) and haven't put my SS into lathe mode, yet.

If you do that, I would love to see the results!

Re: Couple of new projects for this newbie

Arrg. I need to build one of those. I got a universal remote for the lady, but find I still have a bunch of remotes next to me (for those occasional battles of the remotes?). This looks like the perfect project for me to learn box joints, too.

This or a vape stand should be done this year, methinks.

Re: Ambrosia bowl

:)
So I've seen from so many turning posts here and elsewhere. No rush for me so far as my near future projects still have no cylindricity ;)

Time will tell, though. Pens are starting to tug at my list now.

Landscape Lighting

I got tired of replacing those expensive/cheap low voltage path lights every year or two. Sure, I could get some VERY expensive lights that might last, but . . . nah.

Then I found a post by Thepps on Lumberjocks, Landscape Lighting Lanterns , and decided to give it a shot.

This was the most ...

Re: Ambrosia bowl

Very nice bowl!

I still haven't put my SS in lathe mode. So far, all my (few) projects have been pretty rectangular.

Re: Pen finishes

I recently refinished some old kitchen knives with Tru-Oil gun stock finish. They came out much better than I anticipated with little effort.

I wonder if it would be good for pens as well?

Re: Layout Software

Thanks, but I am very familiar with computer graphics. The snip tool creates a bitmap image (png, gif, and jpeg). The png file saved by the program is a bitmap image. These can be scaled in any image program (I have several, including PhotoShop). But bitmap images do not scale well compared to ...

Re: Layout Software

I need to contact the developer, too. I tried it out and liked it enough to buy a copy.

I only tried starting with a small project laying out some small pieces on a 5½" x 48" board. I really like the layout options and automation, but the output png files are way too small for print. That board ...
