Re: SS Bandsaw making funky cuts

Just to test things I'm gonna try another cut with a different blade to see if it produces similar results.

Re: SS Bandsaw making funky cuts

Wood was a scrap piece of 2x4 that I'm using to align.

Feed was smooth and consistent. I've tried going very slow to make sure it wasn't me forcing it through. No change.

The blade is 1/4" shopsmith blade. Probably the original that came with the saw back in the late 80's

Thanks for the quick ...

SS Bandsaw making funky cuts

So back to the experts for some help I come. I purchased a used SS with a bandsaw. I have been trying to get the bandsaw to perform the way I was hoping ever since I got it home.

The entire unit had been packed up to be moved when the previous owner moved across country. This also included ...

Re: Will this work? Flipping the headstock

And reversing the motor... I just read another post that you put up. it was a response to a PM I believe.

If I have a GE motor I can reverse it? Is there an easy way to figure out what motor I have in it without taking it apart? I just put it all back together after cleaning out 20# of dust. Don't ...

Will this work? Flipping the headstock

So first off I'm a noobie so I apologize if this is totally out in left field. I have Shopsmith fever. I recently bought a late 70's model Mark V. Its rough but I'm slowly getting it cleaned up.

Fast forward a few weeks and I found an absolute gem on Ebay. Made a friend in the process (1500 mile ...

Need help identifying something

I recently found a decent deal on a local Mark V. It looks like a late 70's model. There are a few things that came with it that I can't identify. I would love some input on what this is and would be used for please.

The first photo looks like some kind of chuck. There are several of those little ...

Re: Combo Vise Fix

Hey Paul, where did you come up with the miter "runners" ? Did you make those or pillage them from somewhere else?

I like this setup. Wouldn't mind making something similar.

Re: Base Reassembly(C) Hinge Pin

And I broke the bottom base part 518379 while driving the hinge pin out. Sent the wife to eBay to get a replacement. Love me a $100 Sunday evening oops. $39.99 for the part and $30 to ship. I guess it was still $30 cheaper than SS and $300 cheaper than a double tilt upgrade.

Re: Base Reassembly(C) Hinge Pin

Wow. That explains why I could see light through the pin but couldn't see a hole. It all makes sense now. I was wondering how I could keep driving it in but couldn't see a hole on the opposite side.

Thank you very much.
