Re: SS Sawblades on 5/8 Arbor
Definitely agree. When I got my Shopsmith second hand, the seller gave me a Forrest Dado King, Woodworker II 40T, and a Duraline Plywood and Melamine blade. I couldn't believe it at the time. Thankfully, the Dado King still has the 5/8" hole and was on an adaptor. I will definitely be sending the ...

Re: SS Sawblades on 5/8 Arbor
Forrest said they could bush the blades from 1-1/4" to 5/8" but cautioned that it wasn't the ideal setup.

I sent a query to Forrest. If they respond I'll post it in this thread.

Re: SS Sawblades on 5/8 Arbor
Yes, what I am asking about is an adaptor for saw blades that have a 1 1/4" hole for the Shopsmith arbor to be used on a standard 5/8" arbor like on my SawStop.

SS Sawblades on 5/8 Arbor
I have been using my Shopsmith primarily as a table saw for a couple years and just upgraded to a SawStop PCS175. Like most non-Shopsmith tools, it has a 5/8" arbor. I have some very nice Forrest blades that the previous owner of my Shopsmith threw in when I bought it, and I'd really love to not ...

Kreg Miter Gauge
Not sure if this should be in this forum or under maintenance/repair but I received the Kreg Miter Gauge system as a birthday present and want so badly to use it with my Mark V but of course the miter bar is just slightly too big. Has anyone had good results from filing or sanding down a non-SS ...

4" Dust Collection
The DC3000 overview on the Product Catalog page says something about a 4" inlet being available, but I don't see it anywhere. Is this something SS used to make and is no longer offered? If it does exist, does it work well or is the DC3000 not powerful enough?

Re: Lower Saw Guard Trouble
Thanks for all the advice, guys. The washer is in place on the quill, but it seems that removing the blade stabilizer did the trick. The inner guard still seems really close to the blade, but I tried it out this morning and it is not contacting the blade while operating.
I am slightly disappointed ...

Re: Lower Saw Guard Trouble
Yeah, that's the part I mean. It is touching the blade for practically the whole width. Short of buying a new one, I don't see any other way to adjust the thing.

Re: Lower Saw Guard Trouble
Okay, I screwed it all the way in, but the inner guard is still right up against the blade. Any other ideas?algale wrote: Screw it in, and the blade guard as a whole moves closer to the headstock (and away from the blade). Screw it out and it moves the other direction.
