Bill's advice is mine as well. If you can keep it whole, do so,as it gives you double function of everything. If you just don't have the room, make a mini, or as a last resort :rolleyes: perma-mount it to the wall as a dedicated Drill press.

Keep the grey Shopsmith. It has the Poly-V drive and 1 1/8 HP motor. These 2 items are worth keeping the later Shopsmith. Why not make the earlier Shopsmith a MINI, cut the way tubes to 25 5/8" and no carriage and use it as a Power Station for two SPTs you will be using. The 3/4 HP motor is great ...
