lol.. think this hobby is expensive? try photography!! just for kicks, go to any reputable site like B&H . com and look at what one of canons pro lenses costs.. my god, how do you actually enjoy a hobby you love but cant take full advantage of cause you cant afford a lens that costs asmuch or more ...

well that S****s! Id have to make some sort of table that can stand on its own and sorta slide it up to the 10's table then... Oh boy.... and without a really good fence it may make life harder than it need be. Ill have to think o n it. Wish i knew someone who had one local.. one i could go mess ...

Thanks for the info.. I am definetly interested in getting a ShopSmith .. One thing about table size, cant I make table extension wings i could put on and off as needed? also, if I could can I change out the fence to something more user friendly like a smaller besimyer or even a used delta unifence ...

so i can pick up a reasonably good condition ER for anywhere between about $300.00 and $400.00 spend another approx. $450.00 for the motor / speed controll set up and step pulley set up and it will perform better or as good as a MK5? what about hooking up stuff like the sander, jointer, and bandsaw ...
