Mine was missing the metal dowel pin that pushes against the rail & keeps it from sliding when the inside screw is tightend. It is 1/4" x 7/8". I used a wooden dowel until I found mine in the middle of the driveway. Talk about a needle in a haystack. Good luck!:D

I was doing some maintenance on my SS & removed the accessory shelf that the previous owner must have installed. It stuck out in front of the machine somewhat. I don’t think I will be putting it back. I just realized how much in the way it was. I would definitely recommend either shelves that ar...

I would do a little research in your area & see what they are selling for locally. Is there a Craigs list or similar up there? Condition & accessories will have a huge impact on the price. If you make a list of what you have & post some pictures maybe we would be able to help you more. A...

I agree - you really need a way to prevent it from moving when you don't want it to. I have forgotten to drop the wheels a few times during both lathe and saw operations...not good at all. You guys are right. I may have to change to all locking casters. Even then there might be some slight movement...

I have owned a used (previously enjoyed) SS bandsaw for several years & only use it occasionally. I have never released the tension on it. It still seems to work fine. What damage am I causing by doing this. P.S. I don't mean to hi-jack this thread. I just thought this could be a little side not...

Caster replacement solution???

I have never been happy with the crappy casters on the base of my SS. Two of them broke while wheeling it out in front of my garage yesterday. Maybe there is a better solution, but this is what I came up with using stuff that I already had. Sharpening jointer knives?

What is the best way to sharpen the jointer knives? They had some rust on them, which I have removed, but the edges still have rust & some small nicks. I don't want to lose the angle & straight edge that I currently have. I have a grinder & several sharpening stones with oil. I was think...
