Re: Bandsaw upper bearing lubrication

I'm going through maintenance on my bandsaw. The manual says to lubricate the upper wheel bearing with 'cup grease' or 'furnace bearing grease'. Cup grease doesn't appear to be a thing anymore, and in any case, I don't need a big container for one bearing. I have an old tube of Lubriplate that I us...

Re: Is Shopsmith open and currenly shipping items.

I'm getting only an answering machine during working hours today, and it took a half dozen calls before it even rang. Either dead or an error message from telco.

Quill Twister tool

This has to be the silliest thing SS has ever offered. $18.49 for a piece of plastic that probably costs them 18 cents to make. C'mon. Kinda reminds me of the $100 automatic winder for self-winding wristwatches - an expensive solution to a non-problem.

You may be right...

I've sent a few other emails recently requesting information, and didn't get any replies. They must be working with a skeleton crew since the reorg. Maybe they should remove the 'contact us' menu item so as not to waste our time.

I'm going to check that out.

I have many years' worth of this excellent magazine, both from a subscription and from a local garage sale. But they take up a lot of space. Having searchable digital versions would be great. Thanks for the post.

I totally agree, but...

In my opinion, having sales like this disgruntles as many customers as it pleases, maybe more. And if people like me start waiting for sales to buy the accessories they want, that's not good for SS either. Maybe I'll find something similar somewhere else, and they'll lose the sale altogether. Back w...

Bad timing

 Here it is a couple weeks after upgrading to the PowerPro and dual tilt upgrades, and I just got an offer of $189 off if I ordered them now. You'd think they could have told me there'd be a special if I was willing to wait a bit. In the future I'll never order anything from SS until it goes on...
