Re: Power Pro Head

Good evening, I have been watching the posts on this topic, really pleased on the response and the added information on power usage. I will not be able to take the head apart until next week, my part time job runs from Thursday to Sunday and I'm too tired to drive to the shop and spend hours working...

Re: Power Pro Head

Have a heavy duty 4 outlet extension cord mounted to front of machine for power to equipment so that I don't have to crawl under to plug in various items, will double check that the extension cord is fully pushed into the base socket. I did try a small light that worked but the Head takes a lot more...

Went to use the lathe today 5/27/15 , turned on the main power at the head and all I got was a flickering of light on the little screen the unit is dead. Has any one had this problem ? Will try to call customer service 5/28/15. Last used the lathe about a week ago without any issues. Purchased the u...

Ras

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/tls/4354725644.html Thought I'd share. Looks like a great deal, even if the power switch is a little funky. By the description, it even has the rather rare "Add-A-Tool" bracket that let's you power Shopsmith SPTs (like the bandsaw and jointer) with the Saw...

G3 chucks

I'm toying with which Nova chuck to purchase. This one fits my pocket book well but I don't know about its adaptability on the SS and how durable it is and how well it works. This one on eBay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/SHOPSMITH-MARK-V-10E-10ER-LATHE-CHUCK-4-JAWS-BRAND-NEW-/350404756932?pt=Power_Too...

Demo

The last Shopsmith demo presenter here in the Tampa was Dave Folkerth. Outstanding gentleman and was eager to discuss about any Shopsmith topic with us. I am sure most know he is Robert's younger brother. I had excellant dealings with him when Shopsmith closed their warehouse. That was why this las...

Insurance

Ditto on plan F, we are not young and health becomes an issue, don't go cheap on coverage because that 20% copay can become a killer. A year ago had surgery that cost over $100,000 all I saw were copies of the bills , insurance covered all costs.

Shop

In the same boat as you, my shop was a 4 bay gas station of 2200 sq ft than my plumbing shop and now my cave and I'm out of room. One area of the shop is for wood working, another welding & metal work assembly and car service area for my car and truck. :)

Has anyone ever used a Sawsmith radial arm saw? If so, was it any better then every other 10" radial arm saw? Is there anything different about it over other brands? I bought a Saw Smith about 3 weeks ago that was listed for $40.00 in the Cleveland, Ohio craigslist. For a machine designed more...
