The bench was a little rough so painted it with some gray paint which wasn't even close to being the right color. Later I thought the bench woul...

Re: Looking for advice on cutting thin plastic tubes

I wonder if a wooden dowel inserted in the plastic as has been suggested along with a pipe cutter would give you a clean cut.

Re: Wooden shopsmith model from Nick's Woodshop?

You will find the plan for the mini wooden Shopsmith in everretdavis’s google Drive file. It is in the folder aptly named Plans. If you have not explored all the information he has assembled, created and organized you are in for a real treat. https://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/maintenance-and-repair...

Re: Dedicated Drill Press

With a 9 1/4" bench tube the foot print of dedicated shorty drill press is 29"x20". I have not noticed any stability issues when using the drill press. With the support posts the table is rock solid / no flex at all. I ended up going to a 9 1/4 inch bench tube because it set the edge ...

Re: Dedicated Drill Press

I used jsburger's design concept when I made my dedicated drill press. Since I was using an old model 500 table I found 18" bench tubes were too long. After playing around with several different lengths I settled on 9 1/4 inches for my tubes. I found this length allowed me to have the back of t...

Re: Speed Control Mounting Screws

This is the solution that a seller on eBay ( simon*e ) utilized. If I remember correctly he called it an improved headstock.

Re: Removing a stuck fan sheave

This is how I got a fused fan sheave off. You do need to remove the motor pan and set screw like DLB stated. Of course you do run the risk of breaking the fan.

Re: AO Smith 1 & 1/8 HP Motor Guide - Forward / Reverse, Bearings, Wiring, etc.

I shamelessly created a PDF version of the fantastic thread joshh created. I was only interested in the bearing replacement portion so my editing of the document stopped there, but I did copy all of his photos and write up in the attached PDF. Hope this helps
