Gas Spring Table-Raiser, question??

On sale and on my list but I'd like to know if it can be mounted(drilling and what not) while the shopsmith is in vertical position.

The one I have for a drill press is loaded up with SPT and is not easy to nor something I want to have to put in horizontal position. Yes it can be done if it really really had to.....

It is 500 with powerpro if that makes any difference. From the pictures it looks possible but I like to know for sure.

Anyone, anyone at all??

I don't see why not. You can get to the screw positions for drilling with no problem. Just make sure you get the one for the Power Pro head stock since it is heavier.

I am in the middle of hanging a new TV. When I get done I will take a picture and post it so you can see what it looks like in the vertical position.

When you said Power Pro I was thinking of the lift assist that has the stronger cylinder not the table raiser.

Anyhow here is the picture. Mine is mounted slightly different because on my dedicated drill press the head stock and carriage are mounted on the way tubes 180° opposite of normal. The upper bracket is mounted on the carriage the same way. The lower bracket is a bit different but the screws are in the same surface of the pivot arm as the normal mount so there should be no problem.

If you take my lower bracket and turn it 180° in both directions and hang it over the edge of the pivot arm that would be the normal mounting position. The screws end up on the same surface as the way mine is mounted.

The bottom line is that you should be able to install it just fine in the vertical position.
