I may have Overlooked or just do not have the other Dovetail piece that goes on the guard itself.

Thanks for the pictures. :)

I was wondering what that big guard was I have at least one of those. ;)

I have also noticed that some Members have made these labels.

My big Question is ??

I have a 1981 model /Then Qty 3 1984 models.

As long as there is a sticker on there for the (Not Knowing) this Speed control Knob issue.

Which year needs /Which Page # on the sticker?

This is a reference for which page the warning is on in different Owner's Guide editions. Although the copyright didn't change for 7th through 13th editions their release date did. The 7th edition is from April 1957 while the 13th edition is from January 1973. Somewhat irrelevant since they all have the warning on page 2. The release dates for the different editions are shown in blue. Do know that some of the serial numbers, shown in red, are guesstimates as to when they were made. The 8th, 10th and 12th editions are missing from the list but should be Page 2 as I believe some later Owner's Guides would be. Check the Owner's Guide you have for your Mark 5/V to see which page the CAUTION label should reference. That separate CAUTION was no longer used on the "C" Headstock.

Caution Label page number by manual edition (Greenie’s & Goldie’s directly on headstock, Gray on backing sticker)

Thanks for the info.
The only owner's manual I have does not reference this.
The duplicator manual mentions it and says Page 2.

So, I am going with page 2. :)

Okay I have made a decision to paint the bare cast inside with a light gray engine paint.

Maybe that will help with the cleaning in the future.

Before removing the roll pin in the tilt base, I noticed that the pin was flared.

I drilled the back side of the base to have access to the rear of the pin.
This pin was Stuck

So I drilled the end of the pin till it separated at both ends,

I will replace the pin with a new one.

I just received a New to me attachment tonight.

A Shopsmith friend of mine shipped this to me over the weekend.

I got a great deal on it an extra literature of other stuff as a Plus.

As I unboxed the Strip sander,
I noticed the same thing that there was not a lot of Deburring of flashing on the cast parts from the factory. :)

I deburred the bottom of the strip sanding table and painted it the same color I painted the inside of this 1984 headstock.

You are fortunate to have the metal idler pulleys. Take good care of them.

If you may need to use it with the internal sanding belt arrangement, I recommend you get one of the current plastic pulleys since then one pulley face bears against the abrasive side of the belt.

As for that mystery slot - Only the shadow knows. I do not.

Hopefully some of the literature you received includes a copy of the Strip Sander Manual. Yours is currently set up for internal sanding having the one Idler Wheel below the top Tracking Wheel instead of its normal position at the back near the same level as the lower Idler Wheel.
