I have not turned sycamore. Several members of my turning club (Capital Area Woodturners) have and it can be very pretty. Especially if it is spalted. Good Luck and BE SAFE.

I have used the Sorby texture tool and the chatter tool. both with success. The texture would be diffent than the one you are looking at. Just a thought.

When the show was at Fredricksburg, VA the first of the month one of the vendors (who also drives for the show) advised that they are going down to only the "Big Ten" show locations next year. This will make the closest to me Baltimore MD. Oh well... Times they are a changing.:(

The Coopers hawk is a good guess but without looking at the end of the tail or a size it could be a sharpshinned hawk.
The sharpshinned hawk is 10 to 14 inches and has a tail rounded at the bottom. The coopers is 14 to 20 inches and is flat accross the bottom. Great shots though.
Be Safe,

Rusty,

Just a short note. Do not try to change the speed of the unit unless its running. The reeves pully can get damaged if you force it when the unit is not running.

I have not heard the driving at 60mph. But We have used" That car has a fifty foot paint job" for a long time. From 50 feet away it looks great. A little different twist but the same general meaning. ;)
