Thanks for all the advise. I am going to increase the tension on the lower belt and run through the adjustment again. I will let everyone know the outcome.

After a completed PowerPro DIY installation and belt adjustment per the video and manual, what should the belt tension be like? How far should you be able to push in the belts?

charlese, do you have to inform Shopsmith of which version of headstock you have so you get the correct switch?

I just had a thought. Can you still get the head as close to the tail stock as the stock tool rest. If not does it take long to install it so that you could use the stock tool rest until you didn't need the tail stock any longer and then switch to this tool rest system.
