Has anyone pulled apart a keyed chuck that came from Shopsmith? I cant imagine that they would re-invent the wheel so there might be a tapper under that chuck that might fit a keyless. I could be wrong to.

I vaguely remember someone mounting a tail stock on a wall to the right height of the Shopsmith. Turned the side that was over the tubes. Flipped it around and did the other side. I would post a link but I cant remember where I seen it.

Heavier is better until you stick a bunch of weight onto a 2 tubes and a aluminum table. Something to point out is this is made of steel where your table is made of aluminum. It will scratch the table top when you move it around. So something in between would be suggested.
