Re: Rip Fence not maintaining alignment
I know what you are saying. I measured from the top of the front rail to the top of the rear rail with a metric tape measure at multiple points. The extension table were consistently short by the 0.020. By adding the 0.020 inch, I have maintained consistent clamping pressure on the fence clamps thro...

Re: Rip Fence not maintaining alignment
Tried the tweaking. To have it hold on the extension tables with it not moving made it extremely tight to secure it to the main table.

Rip Fence not maintaining alignment
While I was cutting 24" panels on my SS 520 for a project. The rip fence (secured to a floating extension) would shift out of alignment ever so slightly that my panels weren't square. So I took some measurements of the main table and extension tables and discovered that the extension tables wer...

Re: Bandsaw Bearings
I have also done the Carter bearings on the bandsaw and saw a vast improvement in the cutting. I will look into the backup bearings as well. Thanks

Re: Telescoping legs 510
I have just finished part 1 of my upgrade to my table extension. I used the plans in Sawdust Session #20 with one change. I did not use the the telescoping leg as directed, I used 1 inch electrical conduit with a inline connector that fitted into the coupler (removed one screw and filed it smooth), ...

Re: PowerPro Buying Options
Since I have, over the years, upgraded my 510 to the 520 and 520. The upgrade to the PowerPro headstock was the next logical step. I did the DIY upgrade to my headstock. The instructions and video they send with the parts are very good. I was able to complete the upgrade in an afternoon. As for the ...

Re: PowerPro upgrade questions
Superpop, I completed my upgrade to the PowerPro head stock a little over a year ago. I experience the same issue with the loose drive belt. After a phone call to Shopsmith and a review of the maintenance section of the PowerPro upgrade manual, I adjusted the belt tension to 1/8 to 3/16 inch deflect...

Eliminating the teeter
I would venture a guess that most of us are not blessed with flat, level floors in our shops. A couple of us but not most of us. Given that fact, I am wondering if anyone has trouble maintaining table alignments that can be directly attributed to the resulting instability brought about by one leg h...
