Ok, your description of your smaller washer as against my stop washer explains the difference in the operation of the outer wedge between the US and AUS made levers. Mine requires a more critical outer wedge length.
I have left the levers and remaining wedges with the fabricator who is making up 6 ...

Comparing your levers to my levers, you will notice that mine have a stop washer with a 1/8" step so that the step sits inside the bore in the head carriage thus making the wedge length critical.
Is this the same with your levers, or is there just a washer next to the wedge?

Just measuring from it, the outer wedge lengths are different, which seems to agree with my 'bore to tubular way' measurements.
I think that this measurement is critical in the remake, as there needs to be pressure from the lever which engages the wedge against the tubular way ...

I will wait on your dimensions of the wedges.
As a matter of interest, I measured the distances from the head and carriage stock face, where the lock levers enter, to the closest point on the tubular way.
The distances were headstock approx 5/8", carriage approx 3 ...

I forgot to mention that my head and carriage stock levers are the same as your first and second images.

As I will have to have the wedges remade, what material would you suggest and what are the inner and outer dimensions for the wedges?
