Here a few pictures of my Shopsmith setup. It is a 510 that got upgraded to a 520 from the mid 80s.
- All bearings are replaced
- All belts replaced
- Motor cleaned and power wires new insulated (of course - new bearings)
- Bolts replaced with black hex bolts

There are picture in the beginning of the thread. The surface had a few deeper grooves over the entire length. Looks like someone tried to run a board through with a nail in it. I finally finished this task. I used the 77 glue. Tacky enough and still easy to position. I did 3d print a press due to bend the aluminum sheet. It looks okay. But I have the feeling the aluminum table itself is not 100% even. But it’s minimal and I don’t think it will hinder me to create plane ...

While I was disassembling my bandsaw, I played with the cast iron table that came with it. The Shopsmith Miter Gauge slides in, as long as I remove the washer for the T-Nut on the rest of the tables.
